Using fabric pots like Smart Pots for potatos is easy. Just put about 8 inches of high quality potting soil or compost in the bottom of a 30 gallon pot, and put your seed potatos on this layer of soil. Top the pot off with straw (wheat straw is cheapest around here). By late September and early October, you can dump the pot out and gather your spuds!
